time Time of reaction of the driver depends on degree of its readiness, a physical
and emotional condition. The skilled driver reacts to situation change on road
almost unconsciously and instantly. Painful or the depression, exhaustion, a drunken
state considerably increase reaction time. The age, a sense of responsibility,
intensity of traffic, a condition of road and many other factors also influence
reaction time. It is considered to be that at the skilled unwearied driver reaction
time averages 0,8 with. Time of operation of brakes depends on their design
and a condition. At modern cars it averages 0,3 with.
The
brake way depends on a technical condition of brakes, speed of movement
of the car prior to the beginning of braking and from factor of coupling of wheels
with road. Thus the size of a brake way is directly proportional to a square of
speed at which braking, and inversely proportional to factor of coupling of wheels
with road has begun. It means that the increase in speed twice causes increase
in a brake way four times, and on the road covered with ice, a brake way to five-six
